A glass of water in the morning can work wonders.

Water is the elixir of life. This is not new information. Nevertheless, not everyone knows the excellent effect a large glass of water (at room temperature) can have when getting up in the morning. The human body consists of over seventy percent water. Two litres (depending on the amount drunk, sweating and food intake) are excreted daily and must be reabsorbed. That is why a water intake of at least one and a half litres a day is recommended. One way to achieve this is to routinely drink a large glass of water as soon as you get up. This ensures that the body is well hydrated first thing in the morning. Some of the required fluids are absorbed through food. However, most must be compensated with suitable drinks to avoid physical dehydration.

That glass of water first thing in the morning also aids weight loss. It fills the stomach a little, which helps prevent cravings. But that's not all: it boosts metabolism and digestion. It also dilutes stomach acid, which can alleviate heartburn and even cure it if you adjust your diet.

Incorporate water into your morning routine.

It is recommended that you drink non-carbonated mineral water on an empty stomach. If you opt for tap water, you should let it run first, for example, into a large cleaning bucket to avoid wasting water. Because water remains in the pipes for long hours overnight, dissolved metals can collect, especially in older systems. You can also pour boiled or filtered water from the previous day.

It is well known that you should drink a lot if you have a bladder infection, for example. However, drinking plenty of water is generally beneficial. It helps to keep your kidneys and bladder ‘flush’. Fewer harmful substances are deposited in the kidneys, making it harder for bacteria to accumulate in the bladder.

Flushing out toxins

A large glass of water generally helps eliminate toxins. The body has a cleansing mechanism, especially during sleep. Ensuring that the toxins produced during this time can be quickly excreted is a good idea.

Staying hydrated from head to toe

Drinking supports memory and inner peace. It also ensures a ‘clear head’. It stimulates the acceleration of oxygen transport, strengthening the immune system. Drinking neutral water throughout the day also helps your appearance—the blood flow increases. The skin relaxes and appears more beautiful. It is less well known that about a quarter of the hair is water. Pure water also has an effect because the hair is supplied with the necessary nutrients.

Tip: It is a good idea to drink a glass of water (room temperature—not from the refrigerator) in the evening before going to bed. Drink a smaller glass than in the morning so you don't have to get up and go to the toilet several times.

Conclusion

Drinking water first thing in the morning, during and after exercise, and during daily work is good for you. It is a vital routine and essential for the metabolic process. Not drinking enough water slows down the supply of nutrients to the organs and cells and thickens the blood. Drinking enough water helps excrete toxins in the urine.

Straightforward to implement – fantastic effect!
